When we learned we were expecting baby number three, we decided to look for a second car. My husband had just changed his job too which meant we now both needed to be mobile, so having one car between us wasn’t going to work anymore.

Car finance

I had seen the Dacia Duster in around 2013 but back then we weren’t in the market for a new car. It had stayed at the back of my mind though as one to look at when the time came. I have looked at and reviewed a few cars on the blog in the past so had a couple of ideas around what I wanted. The biggest things were:

  • Large boot space
  • Ability to fit 3 car seats in the back
  • Comfortable
  • Rear parking sensors

Louis will be out of a car seat altogether soon but until he is I want to travel safely with the boys. The Duster is one of the few cars to accommodate them so it was a big plus from me. You see that my list wasn’t a huge list but those things were important to me aside from cost. I have parking sensors on our Octavia and now I find that I rely on them greatly. Cost was obviously a factor too so I was also keeping my eye out for cheap deals there.

In the end we plumped for the Dacia Duster Lauréate DCi 110, and opted to add the media navigation system and rear parking sensors.

We are genuinely pleased with our purchase and I will try to do a full review of it soon. It ticks all the boxes on ny checklist and it looks great too. The car cost far less than you might imagine too – around £14,000 including the extras we asked for.

When you are looking for a new car what is on your list of priorities or wishlist?
