It’s been a truly awful week here in Manchester. Awful.

I have spent a few days in a weird sort of wallow. Sorrow for my fellow Mancunians, despair at the state of the world, anxiety about a whole host of things.

How do you tackle those types of feelings and prevent them pulling you down further? I only know one way and that’s to find the joy. I have a fantastic year ahead of me, and so much to look forward to.

The Blog

I love my blog and I want it to grow. I am making lists, planning posts, jotting down ideas. I have just returned from a wonderful holiday so I have a whole host of things to write about off the back of that. I know which direction I want to take the blog in and I’m setting off on that journey.

Family time

My sister gets married this year. I am the only bridesmaid and the hen weekend is my responsibility. The weekend away is actually only a couple of weeks off now so I can really knuckle down and focus on organising the fun for her and our friends and family. Then of course the wedding the following month!

As if my sister is getting married!

Festivals

We’ve got 2 festivals booked in for this year and I am so looking forward to them. We are off to Just So for the first time this year and then returning to The Good Life Experience later in the year. I can’t wait for either one – they’re both set to be amazing weekends full of real quality family time.

Holiday

We got back from Florida last Saturday and we were itching to book something else. Ideally we would have liked to go back to Florida and do some of the things we didn’t get around to this time, but a Disney holiday isn’t usually something you can book on a whim. So I booked a weeks holiday for later in the year! We now have something to look forward to in every month except November so far. I think we’ll be okay with a month off!

What are you looking forward to this year?

  1. You have a big birthday party to look forward to in November! (Mustn’t forget that lol) I can’t believe I’m getting married in 6 weeks ahhhh I’m so excited about the hen do… we need to catch up about that. This year is mainly full of weddings for us but the big thing will be our cruise & stay in NYC & carribbean !!

    1. Lots to look forward to for you! How could I forget THE PARTY! We were only talking about it the other day too x

  2. We find time so hard. I would love to have things to look forward to, but mostly looking ahead just scares the heck out of us. We have a holiday and we are going to Just So – we do have stuff to look forward to – I just find it hard to think of it without panicking 🙂

    1. I can understand that. Looking to a positive future is really the only way I know how to cope with a terrible present, I can’t help but be endlessly optimistic ❤
