With the arrival of the temperamental sunshine in the UK comes some brilliant family events for people with all different kinds of interests. I’ve chosen my top 7 that are taking place in and around the North West over the coming months…
Roald Dahl at Tatton Park
The wondrous wordsmith is being celebrated all year long during the year that would’ve seen him turn 100 years old.
Events are planned from March through to Christmas but I’m particularly looking forward to doing the Fantastic Mr. Fox Treasure Hunt with Louis as I think he’ll really enjoy that. The exhibition is on now so we’re going to go over during half term next week and begin our Roald Dahl journey.
Just So Festival
If there’s a children’s festival that deserves a special mention, it’s Just So. I’m really sad that we aren’t going to be able to make it but with baby due on 11th August and Just So being held 19th – 21st of the same month, it’s perhaps a better idea to try and make it next year instead!
La Lune at Barnaby Festival
Part of Macclesfield’s Barnaby Festival, La Lune is described as a spellbinding 45-minute theatrical family adventure. Suitable for age 4+ and showing on June 18th. More information and tickets can be found here, and you can watch a trailer here.
Pip Ahoy! Pawty and Dog Show
We’re fans of Pip and his friends from Channel 5’s Pip Ahoy! show, so we will be doing our best to get down to Salford Quays on 11th June with our lovely dog Betsy!
#30DaysWild Events
Next month, That Lancashire Lass will be entirely dedicated to our #30DaysWild challenge and you can join in too! Find your nearest event with The Wildlife Trusts and spend some enjoyable time outdoors as a family this summer. As far as family events go, this is a great way to create some wonderful memories, whatever the weather.
The Good Life Experience
I wrote recently about an event we’ll be attending in September called The Good Life Experience and I honestly think it’s going to be terrific. If you love the great outdoors, poetry, music and the general feel good buzz of a festival environment – get yourself down to Hawarden Estate in Flintshire on 16th – 18th September.
Geronimo
Last but not least, this weekend will see us visiting Tatton Park to attend Geronimo. We had a family there last year representing the blog and they had an amazing time, so this is something we are really excited about. There will be a review up as soon as possible once we get home!
