Fun at Pleasure Beach, Blackpool

The boys and I spent the day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach - find out all you need to know about getting the best value.

The boys and I spent the day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach this week, courtesy of Funrise Toys UK who have just launched the brand new range of Wonder Park toys that will accompany the fun filled family film, out in cinemas next week.

I had planned to have another adult with me on our day trip because navigating three excited children through a theme park is no mean feat. The boys were brilliantly behaved though and we had an excellent day. The boys are now 2, 8 and 11 so a real mix of ages when looking for somewhere that will offer sufficient entertainment for everyone. Taking them all to Pleasure Beach was a bit of a gamble because despite the fact that I’ve taken the boys to Blackpool lots of times, I have never taken them to Pleasure Beach.

The gamble paid off though because there were loads of options for all of them. My two eldest children are of a very similar height, so everything either of them wanted to go on was suitable for both of them if it was suitable for one. We spent most of our time in Nickelodeon Land, which is situated within Pleasure Beach. There is something for all ages in there so it worked well.

The bigger boys favourites were Nickelodeon Streak and Avalanche, whereas Squidge really enjoyed Blue Flyer – not that you’d believe me when you saw his photo!

A Whole Heap of Fun

There is so much to do at Pleasure Beach. The rides all included with your wristband purchase, or you can choose a pay-as-you-go option. For full details of that see the website here. The wristbands are the best value though if you book online in advance.

A little highlight of my day was putting a pound into a grab machine and winning a Paw Patrol Rubble! Anyone watching me must have thought I was completely crazy – you’d have thought I’d won the lottery! Those machines are notorious for dropping potential prizes so I was pleased as punch with myself! Rubble went on all the rides with Squidge and now sits proudly at the foot of his bed.

Wonder Park Toys

The reason we had been invited though – besides to enjoy ourselves – was to see the new Wonder Park toy. The display in the Nickelodeon shop is gorgeous and I really wanted to take the giant Boomer home! I think it may have spoiled the display though – so I settled for the cute little bits and bobs the boys received in their generous goody bags (Thank you again Funrise Toys!).

If you haven’t seen the trailer yet for Wonder Park, you can find it on YouTube here.

We had a really lovely day togeter at Pleasure Beach and Nickelodeon Land. I really don’t know why I haven’t taken the boys before! They’re keen to go back so perhaps we’ll be there over the summer holidays.

Thanks again to Funrise Toys UK and Blackpool Pleasure Beach for their hospitality. We had a lot of fun!

  1. I’ve been to Blackpool twice in my life (we live in Scotland so a bit of a distance to get to for a day or two) and just went to the Pleasure Beach once. I’m sure it has all changed since I was last there. I think I was 11/12. Your boys looked like they had a lot of fun that day. Also well done on getting one of those grabber toys. I’ve tried (and failed) loads of times with those machines, probably cheaper buying a cuddly toy
