KarenAlvin and his brothers are back on our screen and are a huge hit in our house. The boys watch these lovable furballs and their entertaining antics on TV usually, and now there’s a new DVD scheduled for release on 13th June in the UK.
Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks: Summer of Sport is a collection of 14 episodes filled with mischief, mayhem and (chip)monkey business that will entertain chipmunks fans for hours! In fact, the total running time is over two and a half hours so kids will be able to watch something new each time they put the DVD on.
The original chipmunks are now wonderfully CGI animated and look far more like (very) small boys. They go to school and face some of life’s trials and tribulations that a young child may also face. Their home life is a lot of fun too as Alvin, his brothers Simon and Theodore, and the Chipettes Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor, navigate their way in the human world. you might wnt to remind the kids not to try ny of Alvin’s antics at home though…
Summer of Sport is the first volume of season one and three more are due to follow in the coming months including Who Ghosts There and Back to School. Every episode features a never heard before chipmunks song too, so prepare your ears for lots of cute squeaky songs!

I used to watch this myself when I was young and I must admit they don’t quite look the same now – more like boys than chipmunks? However my 3 year old daughter adores the programme. My favourite has to be Simon, the more serious studious one 🙂
