Air, Brian Eno, Lanterns on the Lake, Helen Keen, The Clangers, Krysco, Marc Riley and many more join the line-up for Bluedot this year.

Taking place 22-24 July at Jodrell Bank, the Cheshire observatory at the cutting edge of humanity’s quest for knowledge, Bluedot is a brand new three-day festival of discovery that promises to fuse a complex mix of artists, speakers, scientists and performers into an event that claims to be unlike any on earth. Camp out under the stars, and to explore a stellar programme of music, science, arts, technology, culture, food and film.

With 10 stages, there will be something for everyone and for all ages, including a brand new projection artwork by the iconic Brian Eno which will be revealed, having been designed specifically for Jodrell Bank across the magnificent Lovell Telescope. Be play One – a unique, mesmerising live collaboration between an artist, a scientist, half of Spiritualized and 40,000 real life bees – will be performing on the Orbit Stage. That sounds to me like something that’s bound to be quite spectacular!

The weekend includes performances, DJ sets, comedy, talks, workshops and live experiments. I’m not sure you’ll ever have another opportunity to meet carnivorous plants and The Clangers in the same weekend, but that’s how diverse the entertainment at Bluedot is set to be this summer.

There will be a whole host of comedians performing throughout the weekend so you’re in for some real belly laughs – and on the subject of bellies there is set to be some phenomenal food on offer at the festival too!

This is just a snippet of what’s on at Bluedot this July, but you can see the entire lineup on their website and while you’re over there why not enter their competition to win two weekend tickets! Be quick though – it ends on Sunday 10th April.

Bluedot Festival is suitable for the whole family and tickets are available now from their website, with the option of day or weekend passes.
