For the last few years, the start of the festive season meant a trip to Winter Wonderland at Manchester’s Event City. We have always had a fantastic time there, enjoying all the fun of the fair without the snow, wind or rain.
It isn’t just the fun of the fair though – it’s the fun of a whole load of stuff and this year there is even more to enjoy.
Amongst the attractions are:
- fairground rides
- circus
- mini panto
- Santa & his reindeer
- food & drink stalls
- Basil Brush
- sci-fi show
- Pip from Pip Ahoy!
- Prize Stalls
There is so much on offer that you have to work hard to fit it all into your four hour session, but you can do it if you try!
Some of our highlights from last year include:
The circus – a favourite of my six year old son’s because he loves to watch the strong men.
The rides – The main attraction of course is the huge indoor fairground. The boys loved that they were allowed to go on anything they liked because the price of the entry ticket covers all rides. Food and drink, a gift from Santa and prize stalls are payable separately but if you’re on a budget you can have a great time without those added extras and relax knowing that all the rides and shows are covered.
The characters – Rowan met Captain Jack Sparrow, Anna and Elsa, and Channel 5’s Pip from Pip Ahoy! last year. He was especially pleased to see his friend Pip!
Tickets for this year’s Winter Wonderland have started selling very quickly and are up 279% on last year, according to event organiser Kingpin Events. With that in mind, it’s probably best if you stop reading this post and go and grab your tickets while you still can!
