Now that Squidge is a bit older and has well outgrown his baby sleeping bags, I thought it was high time he had some proper bedding. He’s almost two now so long gone are the days of feet-to-foot. He’s a proper wriggle bum in his cot and so anything I put on him soon gets kicked off anyway!
Regardless, he needed something more than a little blanket so I asked Silentnight for some assistance.
Sonny, the manager of the Barton Square store, is on hand to give parents the advice they need around safe sleep for little ones. When you’re not sure what’s most age appropriate when buying new bedding it’s always a great help to have guidance from an expert, and if Silentnight aren’t experts in sleep then I don’t know who is!
The Silentnight store at Barton Square has been open for around a year now and the Silentnight Safe Nights range is the ‘starter’ bedding and nursery range for parents, which then leads onto other ranges in the Silentnight store; as your child grows, the staff can provide you with the right beds, mattresses, bedding and more.
The Safe Nights range has already won some awards including a Gold Award at the Mother & Baby Awards in 2016. It is currently available in grey and pink, with a duck egg green being added this year.
What we ended up with for Squidge was a lovely matching set in white with grey stars. We have a cot duvet, duvet cover, fitted sheets, the softest, snuggliest blanket and – just to top it off – a hippo and duck cuddly toy. Perfect.
We were off on holiday the following day so I made up Squidge’s bed ready for the first night back at home after our trip. One of my favourite things ever is getting into a freshly made bed – it’s such a lovely feeling isn’t it!
We took the blanket away with us – I sometimes feel cold on aeroplanes and I figured if Squidge needed a little extra warmth or comfort the blanket would be just the thing.
