There’s a new kind of activity centre in town and it’s a cut above the rest. An amalgamation of trampolines, assault courses, football skills, climbing and more, KICKair has something to suit all tastes.
Trampoline parks seem to have saturated the indoor activity market over the last few years and although they are great fun, there are only so many times you want to take your kid along to bounce.
What KICKair’s owners have acheived is a brilliant balance of activities for the adventurous. There are three ticket types for visitors to choose from which means you can either spend an hour in KICK, an hour in Air, or an hour in the whole venue.
KICK Zone
I think the KICK Zone was probably the boys favourite area because they are football crazy. The Robokeeper was a huge hit with them and he’s really tough to beat! I believe KICKair’s Robokeeper is the only one of its kind in the UK so it serves as a great selling point. It’s worth it too – everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed having a go at beating the keeper.
The giant kick darts board was truly a sight to behold. I’ve actually never seen anything like it! I did manage to get the ball to stick to it eventually, whereas the boys managed it first time.
Air Zone
Basically the Air Zone covers pretty much everything else aside from football related activities. Trampolines, climbing walls, Ninja assault course, Dodgeball, slackrope… there is SO much to do.
Personal favourites of mine were watching the boys jump from a height onto the crash mats, and the dodgeball. Turns out I’m a completely terrible aim! I had fun though so…
Something for all
There is also a pretty decent sized soft play area – Little Kicks – for little ones which I wasn’t expecting. It looks great and is suitable for kids under a certain height so its safe for smaller visitors.
I spoke with some of the staff at KICKair who told me I would be able to stay and play with my youngest while the bigger kids, aged 7 and 10, were on the main activity area. That means we can go whenever we like and aren’t restricted to times when I can get a sitter for my 15 month old. Win!
We enjoyed every minute of our time at KICKair and my son is actually going back next week with his friend.
KICKair also has several party rooms and offers party packages. I think any group of fun loving people would have a great time here, whether they’re 6 or 60!
I must also include within this review a little mention of my customer service experience at KICKair.
All too often we receive poor customer service and we’re usually quick to tell people about it. But throughout our visit the staff were polite and friendly, cheerful and considerate. None of them knew I was there to review KICKair so there was no special dispensation for me. I just experienced high quality customer service from people who were truly enjoyong their work there. A particular mention is due to Courtney, who made the kids feel really welcome, answered all of their (and my) questions and talked them through how some of the machines worked. A truly pleasant guy and an asset to KICKair.
So thank you KICKair for inviting us along and thank you Courtney for making us feel so welcome.
