It’s the end of the school summer holidays and I am done in! Our last week was a busy one as usual; this is what we got up to…
We Visited: Venture Caravan Park
We spent our last weekend of freedom from the school run at Venture Caravan Park in Morecambe. I’ve stayed at lots of sites over the years and I can honestly say this was something a little bit unique! I’ll be writing a full review later in the week – we had a very interesting time!
We also called in for a cheeky little drink at a pub in Carnforth called The Canal Turn. The beer garden looks out onto the water and the views are lovely.
We Read: Danny Chaucer’s Flying Saucer
We’ve been reading this book for ages actually. We’ve read a chapter per night for a little while, and the boys really looked forward to it at bedtime. Between these covers you’ll find bullies, heroes, visible bobs (and invisible ones, come to that) and lots and lots of laughs. Louis is seven and can read most of this himself, though there was the odd time we needed to explain a word to him here and there. Rowan is five and he loved listening to Danny’s adventures each night.
I’d recommend this book – it’s something the whole family will enjoy reading together and with it’s bullying based side story it has great moral lessons in it too.
Trying: TV
This week I was on the telly! A brand new channel called That’s Lancashire asked me to go on their daily chat show. We talked about an assortment of current affairs and I was terrified. I thoroughly enjoyed it though and hope to do it again soon!
Eating: Healthier food
After my first week at Slimming World I somehow managed to lose a whopping seven pounds in weight. I’ve no idea how I managed it or where I’ve lost it from but I’ll take it! I’ve been pretty good on the ol’ weight loss front, and I’m hoping for more of the same this week. I can fit in dresses that were just too tight last month so I’ve got the motivation I need to lose a few more pounds in the coming weeks.
