There’s a new kind of festival in town this weekend and it’s one that will attract the attention of thousands of locals in Manchester.

Soccerex are bringing their urban football festival to The Old Granada Studios in Manchester this weekend, the 5th and 6th September, where football mad attendees will be able to spend two full days immersed in all things football related.

This isn’t just a chance for a casual kickabout. This is an opportunity to see some of the most talented footballers and freestylers work their magic. It’s a gathering of the masses to celebrate Manchester’s deep affiliation with the beautiful game.

Want to know what to expect? Here are last year’s highlights from the Ethiad Stadium…

This year the Soccerex Football Festival is set to be bigger and better than before.

There’s too much to list here, but amongst other things you will see:

  • 2015 UK & Irish Freestyle Football Championships, hosted by the Freestyle Football Federation.
  • 3-on-3 legends tournament, featuring the likes of Jay-Jay Okocha and Gaizka Mendieta and Panna Cages
  • freestyle tutorials with the likes of Sean Garnier & STR Skill School
  • The ‘Panna Cage’
  • Digital Football
  • Zorb Football
  • Live entertainment

What is it that we so love about football in Manchester? Is it that we have two teams at the top of the Premier League? Is it that we have excellent grass roots academies across the whole of the area? Is it that the ‘Class of ’92’ who inspired a generation were all local lads (you’re an honorary northerner, Becks).

Whatever it is, it sends a love of football deep through the veins of many a Manchester resident, so what better place for a celebratory festival.

Entry to the festival is free for all and ‘kicks off’ with ‘BOOTS & Beats’ at 11am.

All the info you need can be found on the Soccerex Football Festival website.
